What To Talk About on Social Media. This is the number one question I get asked all the time when evaluating and consulting on brands or professionals looking at building and growing their relationships on social media. Social media users get stuck, and its my job to help push them out of that rut.
Finding your ‘social media’ purpose
As with anything when starting out or pushing forward, its important to start by discovering what your core reasons are for using social media. Is it to keep up to date with celebrity gossip? Follow trendsetters within your industry? Keep tabs on community happenings or local sports teams? Or is it bigger than that? – do you want to use it to be seen as an expert in your field, growing your personal or business brand image?
What’s your passion?
Its great that you’re questioning things, and trying to sort out what to talk about on social media. If you’re passionate about something, you are usually all in! And if your all in, you have a lot to offer people within the community of customers you do business with. Find your purpose, and explode your passion.
Sharing your knowledge and skills
Once you have defined your purpose and passion, its time to let people know all about it. What can you teach them? How can you improve their lives? Be seen as the thought leader you are. You have a wealth of knowledge to share, and now is the time to share it.
Strengthening your social conversations
Embed yourself into discussions within your community on social media. Be apart of the discussions and add value. Build and share your own content, and share others content your community will find valuable.
